Summer-Retreat 2010
Summer Retreat Holotropic Breathwork®
Developing Spiritual Maturity
22nd to 27th of august 2010
Spiritually mature people know that the self in its deepest nature is more than the self. As a result, they are able to transcend and move beyond struggles and misfortunes that present themselves in life. They have a good sense of proportion concerning everyday events and a sense of humor that doesn't hurt others. They don't speak badly about or exclude others. They rarely speak about their own experiences of consciousness and if they do only in an intimate setting. They act authentically, often others know what they are feeling by looking at their faces. They never stand above things--they know this is not possible. They are connected with themselves, with others, with everything that is alive on earth. They are aware of their personal shadows and they recognize evil. They realize that good and evil presuppose each other. They know they are not perfect and that beauty is found in the imperfection of all living things. They don't act in an exotic or detached way--they are very normal and treat everyday life as an adventure.
Daily life is where they want to be--they understand and do what is needed out of the their hearts. They are easy going, compassionate and creative. Other people shine in their presence.
This retreat creates a space where people can find and connect with this inner most dwelling place in the center of their being.
For reaching spiritual majority we have to give up our egocentic perspective in our heart. What this means, simply, is being united with all beings. Many people in the Western countrys think that this is a very altruistic point of view and would mean not to care about one’s own interests. This is not what spiritual maturity means. Buddha recognized in his enlightment the conditionality of all things, what means the deep connection and the dependency of all beings. Thich Nhat Hanh calls this the "Inter-relatedness".
Inter-relatedness can be experienced when we feel the light and the shadow inside of us and when we stop to separate the individual from the collective.
The intensive consciousness work done here can lead to spiritual maturity. Participants gain access to their creativity, examine blockages to intimate relationships, confront personal and historical collective shadow material, identify challenges as they travel their spiritual path, and discover what stage they are at in their spiritual development.
Many have said after attending this retreat that for the first time in their lives they feel they have come home.
This retreat is in the tradition of the German-Jewish history. The immense suffering and the monstrous evils of Auschwitz can be seen as signs of the inter-relatednes of all beings on this planet.Spiritual maturity therefore is the process of coming home. All humans have this wish of coming home.
Dr. Judith Miller (an American Jew) and Dr. Ingo Jahrsetz (a German) have been engaging in consciousness work as a team for many years--bringing together their personal, cultural, and spiritual commonalities in a manner that transcends their differences.
Each participant will experience the Holotropic Breathwork process twice. After each breathing session we will offer a psychotherapeutically guided group sharing. If it is helpful and healing we additionally will offer systemic constellation work.
